First time and have to say.. burger was sooo good and freshly made!.chili fries was good and the prices are so reasonable. For sure I'll be back l)!.
This is one of the best burgers I have ever had. I think the stand out feature is the meat quality and preparation. The meat is seasoned and cooked well, and the toppings accentuate that main feature. The grilled bun, I think brioche, completes the sandwich. I also really enjoyed the garlic Parmesan fries. They reminded me of Dodger stadium, but a quarter of the price. This feels like a real Downey local favorite. We have been here 5 years and I'm sad we haven't been sooner but we will definitely frequent this spot moving forward.
tasty and juicy burgers ! I first tried this place 3 years ago my friend worked here now I bring my family here anytime were in the area of downey. Cant go wrong!

The burger melted in my mouth. I plan on revisiting this spot in the near future.
It took about 10-15 min for my order to come out also they have some chairs you can sit on outside to eat or wait on your food.
Delicious food. This place is a hole in the wall, but if you're ever in Downey, it's a must. The burgers are delicious and so are the wings!
Really enjoy Stewart&grub. For a while I was choosing this spot over in n out. The fries can use some work, they just don't taste that good to be honest. The service is quick and the workers are friendly. It's so weird how good these burgers are for such a small place. Parking is hard to find most days so sometimes will have to make two rounds before finally deciding to park on the street. Will usually call to make my order so as soon as I show up I just go up to the window, pay, grab my food, and go home.
So if you're looking for a good burger that's different from the ordinary mainstream burger, give this spot a try.
On to my search for the best burger in Socal. Stopped by on a hot Sunday afternoon here. It looks like a stand from the outside; there is an outdoor seating area, but there are only a few spots. So this is more like a grab-and-go spot.
From a quick glance at the menu, you can get a burger smashed style or regular style, the latter of which is offered with different toppings. You can also get wings here, too. Angus beef patties are also offered here, but as an upgrade.
I ordered the smash burger "grub" style with their special spread (it's very similar to thousand island dressing). Got some fries and a drink as a combo. There are no fountain drinks here, so you'll get your drink in a can.
So here are my thoughts on the food:
- Smash Burger - 6.7/10: Solid smashburger. Not too fancy and overseasoned. I liked the brioche bread as it wasn't too dense. Patty taste was pretty good, although not spectacular and could've been crisped better at the ends. Their spread didn't add too much to it. Just a solid burger, though.
- Fries - 5/10: crinkle cut style. I think they could use an upgrading to these fries. They're seasoned well, but they're fried unevenly. I suspect they might be frozen.
So yeah, this is a solid spot for a burger. Everything is clean, well organized, and the owner took some time on look and branding. Very friendly looking spot. Would definitely come back to try their regular burgers with the Angus upgrade. My bros had ordered their burgers non smashed and they looked A LOT better and juicier than mine.
